Pesticide application records in North Dakota

What N.D. Admin. Code 60-03-01-07 asks for on each structural pest control record, how long to keep it and what the customer must get, based on our reading of the rule. And how PestSheet covers it.

Not legal advice. This summarizes our research of the official rule, checked October 2, 2026. Rules change and may require more than what is listed here: confirm with the official text or with the agency (North Dakota Department of Agriculture).

What the record must include

  • Customer name and address
  • Description of where the pesticide was applied
  • Pest(s) controlled
  • Start and completion time (month, day, year and hour)
  • Person who supplied the pesticide
  • Trade name and EPA registration number
  • Wind direction and estimated speed and outdoor air temperature (not for indoor applications or when bait is used)
  • Amount of pesticide used
  • Area treated or other unit of measure
  • Description of equipment used
  • Applicator's signature and number

How long to keep it

3 years. From the date of application; the record must be made within 24 hours.

What the customer gets

  • Give the customer a copy of the record as soon as possible, no later than 30 days, unless a signed letter from the customer waiving the copy is on file.

How PestSheet covers it in North Dakota

Before you complete a visit for a client in North Dakota, PestSheet checks that these fields are filled in:

  • Applicator license or certification number
  • EPA registration number
  • Amount applied
  • Rate or dilution
  • Target pest
  • Areas or sites treated
  • Size of the area treated
  • Application method
  • End time of the service

For exterior applications, it also asks for:

  • Weather (wind, temperature)

Also:

  • Reminds you to keep records at least 3 years.
  • Export the records of any period as PDF or CSV for an inspection (Pro).

The client's name and address, the service date and start time, and the applicator's name are always recorded. The app uses the N.D. Admin. Code 60-03-01-07 template. It doesn't check items the app doesn't record (for example active ingredients or equipment); those remain your responsibility.
