Pesticide application records in Connecticut

What Conn. Gen. Stat. §22a-66g asks for on each structural pest control record, how long to keep it and what the customer must get, based on our reading of the rule. And how PestSheet covers it.

Not legal advice. This summarizes our research of the official rule, checked October 2, 2026. Rules change and may require more than what is listed here: confirm with the official text or with the agency (Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection (DEEP)).

What the record must include

  • Name and certification number of the commercial supervisor and of the commercial operator
  • Kind and amount of pesticide used (and acreage, if applicable)
  • Date and place of application
  • Pest treated for
  • Site treated
  • A list of the names and EPA registration numbers of all pesticides the business applied

How long to keep it

5 years. From the date the record is made or amended, whichever is later. Kept by the pesticide application business.

What the customer gets

  • A copy of the record must be provided upon the customer's written request.
  • Before contracting: inform the customer about the neighbor notification registry and give a copy of the label section with product name, registration number, manufacturer, active ingredients, signal word, emergency phone and precautions.

Termites, fumigation and other cases

  • Registered abutting neighbors must be notified at least 24 hours before applications within 100 yards of the property line.
  • Outdoor signs with fixed text: "PESTICIDE APPLICATION", date and applicator name and phone, and "This sign must remain for 24 hours after pesticide application".
  • Written instructions to operators (RCSA 22a-66-5(i)) and an annual summary due January 31.

How PestSheet covers it in Connecticut

Before you complete a visit for a client in Connecticut, PestSheet checks that these fields are filled in:

  • Applicator license or certification number
  • EPA registration number
  • Amount applied
  • Target pest
  • Areas or sites treated

Also:

  • Reminds you to keep records at least 5 years.
  • Export the records of any period as PDF or CSV for an inspection (Pro).

The client's name and address, the service date and start time, and the applicator's name are always recorded. The app uses the Conn. Gen. Stat. §22a-66g, §22a-58(d) template. It doesn't check items the app doesn't record (for example active ingredients or equipment); those remain your responsibility.
