Pesticide application records in Tennessee

What Tenn. Comp. R. & Regs. 0080-09-04-.06 asks for on each structural pest control record, how long to keep it and what the customer must get, based on our reading of the rule. And how PestSheet covers it.

Not legal advice. This summarizes our research of the official rule, checked October 1, 2026. Rules change and may require more than what is listed here: confirm with the official text or with the agency (Tennessee Department of Agriculture).

What the record must include

  • Applicator's first and last name and certification number
  • Trade name of the pesticide as it appears on the label
  • Address where the application was made
  • Date of the application
  • Target area (for example house, business or building)
  • Target pest (for mixtures, which pest each product targeted)
  • Total amount of pesticide applied
  • Percentage use dilution
  • Application rate
  • First and last name of the property owner or tenant

Also for restricted use pesticides (RUP)

  • EPA registration number
  • Time of the application

How long to keep it

2 years. From the date of application.

What the customer gets

  • The applicator must give a copy of the application record within 48 hours when the property owner or tenant asks for it.

Termites, fumigation and other cases

  • Wood-destroying organism contracts: kept 2 years after the contract ends; inspections and graphs 2 years after the inspection.

How PestSheet covers it in Tennessee

Before you complete a visit for a client in Tennessee, PestSheet checks that these fields are filled in:

  • Applicator license or certification number
  • Areas or sites treated
  • Target pest
  • Amount applied
  • Rate or dilution

If you apply a restricted use product (RUP), it also checks:

  • EPA registration number

Also:

  • Reminds you to keep records at least 2 years.
  • Export the records of any period as PDF or CSV for an inspection (Pro).

The client's name and address, the service date and start time, and the applicator's name are always recorded. The app uses the Tenn. Comp. R. & Regs. 0080-09-04-.06 template. It doesn't check items the app doesn't record (for example active ingredients or equipment); those remain your responsibility.

What we could not confirm

  • We could not confirm on the Secretary of State's site that no version newer than the December 26, 2021 rule exists.
